Audiences at Feminist Comedy Night kept pestering James Lórien MacDonald to “do a workshop or a course or something” for beginners in stand-up comedy, and Feminist Comedy Academy is the result. FCA is a short course led by James Lórien MacDonald, wherein about 10 new comedians learn about the art of stand-up comedy and develop their own 5-minute set, which is then performed at a special club night for members of the public. It has been run 4 times in Helsinki, with shorter workshops held in Tallinn and Oslo.
Past FCA alumni include Newcomer of The Year (Vuoden Tulokas) 2018 Illusia Sarvas, Aurora Vasama, Anna Ruohonen and Maria Oiva.
